Delicious Pancake Recipe Old-Fashioned & Yummy

Pancakes for breakfast.

Three words celebrated many times around the world. You would almost think that pancakes are why we have cast iron skillets. The two go so well together.

However, nonstick skillets came along with instant pancake mix and another breakfast favorite lost its flavor. Newer chefs took over the kitchen and before you knew it, pancakes started coming from a box.

Well this is a pancake recipe from scratch.

Plus, this recipe is as easy as one, two, three.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/4 cups milk
2 teaspoons baking powder 1 egg
1 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Preparation

First, combine your dry ingredients together. Second, take your wet ingredients and combine those just the same. Third, pour the combined wet mixture into your bowl of dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.

Your pancake batter should be smooth.

Heat your cast iron skillet to medium high heat, then coat with cooking oil. Pour your homemade pancake batter by the quarter cupful into the skillet to make your pancakes. Your pancake is ready to flip when the edges stiffen and there are several holes on top. This makes for a golden edge around the pancake and helps make sure they flip easily and cook all the way through.

It takes approximately 2-3 minutes per pancake.

Serve hot.

You now have an old-fashioned pancake recipe. You can make buttermilk pancakes, banana pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes and more from this easy pancake recipe. Use your imagination and go wild.
